How old does a girl have to be to participate in Girl Scouts? The girls are organized into age-specific program levels. At a minimum a girl must be 5 years old and in Kindergarten (or equivalent home school environment) to participate.
Girl Scouts has different program levels for different ages/grades. All registered girls are “Girl Scouts”.
Here are the program levels:
Daisies: k + 1st grade
Brownies: 2nd + 3rd grade
Juniors: 4th + 5th grade
Cadettes: 6th – 8th grade
Seniors: 9th + 10th grade
Ambassadors: 11th -12th
Adult Girl Scouts: College age (18+) and older
Juliettes: All ages from 5-18 years of age
*Juliettes are girls who are registered but not assigned to a troop. They can still participate in camp, council events, and other activities. There are even some events especially for them!
